April 2007 - Present; Rehabilitation Technology Specialist III, Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, Birmingham, AL Evaluate consumers for assistive technology services, gather, store, disseminate information on AT services, review cases thought to be to severely disabled for VR services, Coordinate statewide meetings and training for assistive technology services, identify current and future equipment and training needs for technology team, and work with staff, businesses, and other organizations to develop programs and training materials on assistive technology and technology services. Budget for and order evaulation equipment needed by RTS team. Train interns and new staff to provide AT services. Work with different ADRS programs to provide joint training oportunities for staff.

July 1999 - August 1999: Rehabilitation Engineer Internship, T.K. Martin Center for Technology and Disability, Mississippi State University, MS Accompany staff on site visits and help with assessments and reports. Help clients who come into center to solve immediate problems with assistive technology they are using. Modify stock components, i.e. wheelchairs, electronic devices, to fill client needs. Design unique products to aid clients with ADL and work.
June 1999: Rehabilitation Engineer Internship, Franciscan Medical Center, Dayton, OH Monitor patient progress during in-patient rehabilitation. Help develop design solutions for project suggestions from OT, PT, Speech Path, Nurses, and Doctors in the unit.
December 1998: Volunteer, Restorative Rehabilitation, Otterbien Retirement Community, Lebanon, OH While there I helped develop spreadsheets to monitor patient progress. I also worked adding equipment to a small fitness center.
September 1996 - September 1998: Research and Development Engineer, Mauch Laboratories, Dayton, Ohio Mauch Laboratories is an ISO-9001 company developing and manufacturing prosthetic knee components. My engineering responsibilities included new product development, prototype design, retooling design, developing new manufacturing procedures, design and maintenance of testing equipment, and updating drawings and routers.
